About the Author
Mike Sullivan is a Professor of Mathematics at Chicago State University and received a Ph.D. in mathematics from Illinois Institute of Technology. Mike has taught at Chicago State for over 30 years and has authored or co-authored over fifty books. Mike has four children, all of whom are involved with mathematics or publishing: Kathleen, who teaches college mathematics; Mike III, who co-authors this series and teaches college mathematics; Dan, who is a Pearson Education sales representative; and Colleen, who teaches middle-school mathematics. When he's not writing, Mike enjoys gardening or spending time with his family, including nine grandchildren. Mike Sullivan III is a professor of mathematics at Joliet Junior College. He holds graduate degrees from DePaul University in both mathematics and economics. Mike is an author or co-author on more than 20 books, including a statistics book and a developmental mathematics series. Mike is the father of three children and an avid golfer who tries to spend as much of his limited free time as possible on the golf course.

I bought this as a NEW book in order to have the online access code. The description makes it seem like it should be supplied but that is not the case. It should instead be made clear this DOES NOT come with the access code so there is really no reason to spend so much for a new book when you can get a like new, almost new, or even new from elsewhere at a much lower cost and still have the same item and still have to buy the access code separately.
The book is ok.. Many of the end of section practice problems are beyond the scope of the book. If it's not being taught in the book, then why check for more advanced knowledge? It's discouraging.
I am really enjoying this book. I paid a little more because I wanted better quality. This book is just like new. Shipping was good too. I order early for books, I recommend everyone does this just in case a hick up. Very happy with purchase.
Great rental price on this book. It isn't in the GREATEST shape, but who cares as long as the pages are in there and I can use it for my homework.
This book is a masterpiece for logical thinkers but however for those who are more practical, there should have little more examples and articulate with specific details. I recommend this book for those who want to become extraordinary engineers, physicist, or any field in critical thinking.

Renting the text book and the cover was not in good shape and when I open the book I worry that it will tear and pages will fall out. Do not rent from here.. you might as well buy it.
